Why patients call us

Many dental offices in PSL are open only on weekdays. A cracked molar on Saturday or a swollen jaw on Sunday night often means a long wait at the ER or a weekend of pain. Here, it’s simple: call us, and we’ll see you that day.

Not every call is about a toothache. Some people want a second opinion before they agree to a big treatment plan. Others just moved to Port St. Lucie and are looking for a dentist. Whatever brings you in, you’ll get a straight answer, a full exam and a clear plan with the price in writing before we start anything.

Our Port St. Lucie dental office is at 388 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34984, about 3 minutes from City Hall and 7 minutes from the Crosstown Parkway exit on Interstate 95. Sandpiper Bay, Central PSL, St. Lucie West and Tradition are all within about 15 minutes. Families from Torino and Southwest PSL are about 17 minutes away, and Stuart, Jensen Beach and Fort Pierce are about 25 minutes. Parking is free, right at the door.

Emergency dentist · Open Sundays

Is There an Emergency Dentist Open on Sunday in Port St. Lucie?

Yes. We’re open around the clock, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, so whether you need a dentist open on Saturday in Port St. Lucie or at 2 a.m. on a Sunday, we’re here. Got a toothache, a broken tooth or swelling? Call us and we’ll see you the same day, even at 2 a.m.

Urgent care and the ER can give you pain medicine, but they can’t fix a tooth. So you pay for the visit and still need a dentist on Monday. With us, it takes one call. We find the cause, stop the pain and often fix the tooth in that same visit.

What to Do Before You Get Here

Knocked out tooth

Time matters most. The American Association of Endodontists advises seeing a dentist within 30 minutes.

  1. Pick up the tooth by the crown, the white part you chew with. Don’t touch the root.
  2. If it’s dirty, rinse it with water for a few seconds. No soap and no scrubbing.
  3. Push it back into the socket if you can, then bite gently on a clean cloth.
  4. If it won’t go back in, keep it in milk or inside your cheek. Don’t put it in tap water

Swelling or a bad toothache

Rinse with warm salt water. Hold a cold pack on your cheek for 15 minutes at a time. Take an over the counter pain reliever as directed on the label. Don’t put aspirin directly on your gum. It can burn. Swelling can mean an infection, so call us right away. If you find it hard to breathe or swallow, call 911 right away.

Broken tooth, lost filling or loose crown

Save any pieces and rinse your mouth with warm water. Chew on the other side. Keep a loose crown in a small bag, and don’t glue it back on with super glue. We can often fix a broken tooth in one visit with bonding or a same day crown.

Should I Go to the ER for Tooth Pain?

Go to the ER for a broken jaw, bleeding that won’t stop or swelling that makes it hard to breathe. Nearby options include HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital on SE Tiffany Avenue and Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital. For a toothache, a chipped tooth, a lost crown or a knocked out tooth, a dentist is faster and costs less. The ER can treat pain and infection, but it usually can’t repair a tooth, so you’ll end up at a dentist anyway.

Teeth Cleaning, Checkups and Fillings

A checkup includes an exam, digital X rays when needed and a general cleaning with a licensed dental hygienist that removes the tartar brushing misses. We fix small cavities with a tooth colored filling, usually in one short visit. That matters, because the CDC reports that about 1 in 5 adults aged 20 to 64 has a cavity that hasn’t been treated. Catching one early costs less and hurts less.

Dental Implants

An implant is a small post, usually titanium, that replaces the root of a missing tooth and holds a natural looking crown. We plan every implant with a 3D cone beam scan of your jaw. Implants can replace one tooth, a few teeth or a full arch.

Tooth Extractions, Wisdom Teeth and Dentures

When a tooth can’t be saved, we remove it gently and talk about what goes in its place. Simple and surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth removal, are done here. We make full and partial dentures, plus dentures that snap onto implants so they stop slipping when you eat.

Cosmetic Dentistry: Teeth Whitening, Veneers and Clear Aligners

Wondering where to get your teeth bleached in Port St. Lucie? Whitening in our office uses a stronger gel than store kits, so you see results faster, and we check your gums first. Porcelain veneers cover chips, gaps and stains on front teeth. Clear aligners straighten teeth without metal braces, and you see a 3D preview of your new smile before you start.

Sedation Dentistry for Nervous Patients

If the dental chair makes your heart race, you’re not alone. We offer sedation dentistry in Port St. Lucie, FL, and we’ll talk through the options that help you relax. You set the pace, and you can raise your hand to stop at any time.

Emergency Dentist, Open 24/7

Toothache, broken tooth or swelling? We’re here day or night, Sundays and holidays too. Call Us and we see you the same day.

Children’s Dentistry

Gentle first visits by age one, plus sealants and fluoride varnish to protect young teeth.

Same Day Crowns and Root Canals

A crown is a cap that covers a cracked or weak tooth. We scan your tooth, design the crown on a computer and mill it in our office while you wait. No goopy impression and no second visit. A root canal removes infection from inside the tooth and saves it. The American Association of Endodontists says that with numbing, a root canal is no more painful than a filling.

Family and kids

Family Dentist for Kids and Parents in Port St. Lucie

About 1 in 5 people in Port St. Lucie is under 18, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, so we see a lot of young smiles. We treat kids, parents and grandparents, and you can often book the whole family on the same trip.

Is There Fluoride in Port St. Lucie Water?

Only the small amount that’s there naturally. The City of Port St. Lucie stopped adding fluoride on December 18, 2024, for its roughly 95,000 utility customers. Then Florida’s SB 700, signed in May 2025, took effect on July 1, 2025. It bans adding fluoride to public water anywhere in the state.

Why does that matter? The CDC says fluoride in tap water cuts cavities by about 25% in children and adults. Now that it’s gone, kids need to get it another way. Here’s what we recommend for PSL families:

1. Fluoride toothpaste at home. The American Dental Association recommends a smear the size of a grain of rice for kids under 3, and a pea sized amount for ages 3 to 6.

2. Fluoride varnish at checkups. We paint it on in seconds and it doesn’t hurt. Afterward, stick to soft foods for the rest of the day and wait 4 to 6 hours before brushing.

3. Sealants on back teeth. These thin coatings fill the deep grooves in molars. The CDC says they prevent 80% of cavities in back teeth for 2 years, and that’s where 9 in 10 cavities happen.

4. Checkups every 6 months, so we catch soft spots before they become holes.

When Should My Child First See a Dentist?

By their first birthday. That’s what the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends, and it also reports that about 28% of children aged 2 to 5 already have tooth decay. The first visit is short and gentle. We count teeth, check the gums and show you how to brush those tiny teeth.

Back to School and Sports Mouthguards

Toothaches cost kids class time. The CDC says students lose about 34 million school hours a year to emergency dental care. Book checkups before school starts in August. If your child plays football, basketball or soccer at Treasure Coast High, St. Lucie West Centennial or Legacy High School, Tradition’s newest high school, a custom mouthguard is worth it.

Seniors and Medicare

Does Medicare Cover Dental Care in Florida?

Usually not. According to Medicare.gov, Original Medicare doesn’t cover most dental care, including cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, dentures and implants. Many Medicare Advantage plans include dental, but every plan has its own limits.

It’s often the first question seniors ask when they look for a dentist in Port St. Lucie, Florida. About 21.8% of PSL residents are 65 or older, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. We’re a short drive from 55+ communities like Cresswind at PGA Village Verano, Del Webb Tradition, the Valencia neighborhoods in Riverland and Catalina Palms at Sundance.

Here’s what to do: bring your Medicare Advantage card to your first visit. You’ll get a written price before we start, plus an itemized receipt you can send to your plan if it covers out of network dental care.

Your health matters here too. Diabetes, osteoporosis medicines and smoking can affect healing, so we look at your medical history and a 3D scan before we suggest anything.

Here for the Season? Dental Care for Snowbirds

Many part time residents come down from New York, New Jersey and other states each winter. Here’s the usual story: your dentist is up north, and a crown pops off in January. One visit with us takes care of it. We repair the tooth, then send your X rays and notes to your home dentist so your records stay complete. If you’re in the middle of treatment back home, bring your plan and we’ll work with your dentist.

Pricing and insurance

How Much Does a Dentist Cost in Port St. Lucie Without Insurance?

It depends on what your mouth needs, so we don’t post one flat price. You’ll get a written estimate before any treatment, with every cost broken down line by line. The table below shows what changes the price of common treatments.

TreatmentWhat changes the cost
Exam and cleaningX rays needed, regular or deep cleaning
FillingSize of the cavity, number of tooth surfaces
Root canalFront or back tooth, number of canals, crown needed after
CrownMaterial, buildup or root canal needed first
Dental implantNumber of teeth, bone grafting, type of crown
DenturesFull or partial, standard or implant supported
Teeth whiteningIn our office or take home trays
Clear alignersHow far your teeth need to move

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

It depends on how many teeth you’re replacing, whether you need a bone graft, and the type of crown or bridge on top. Wondering how much implants for 3 teeth would cost? Replacing 3 teeth doesn’t always mean 3 implants. Sometimes 2 implants can hold a 3 tooth bridge, which lowers the cost. After a 3D scan, you’ll get an exact quote in writing, plus a plan to spread out the cost if you need one.

What Insurance Do You Take? Do You Accept Medicaid?

Right now, we’re not in network with any dental insurance plans, and we don’t accept Medicaid. If you need a Medicaid dentist in Port St. Lucie, Forever Smiles (listed below) accepts Medicaid for children. If your plan has out of network benefits, we’ll give you an itemized receipt you can send to your insurer. Either way, you’ll see the full price in writing before we start.

Choosing a dentist

How Do I Find a Good Dentist in Port St. Lucie?

A good dentist has an active Florida license, explains things in plain words, tells you the price first and can see you when you’re hurting. These five checks take about ten minutes.

1. License. Search the dentist’s name on the Florida Department of Health license lookup. It shows if the license is active and lists any public discipline.

2. Recent reviews. Read Google reviews from the last few months. Look for words like gentle, explained and on time.

3. A written plan. Ask for the treatment plan and the cost on paper before any work starts.

4. No pressure. You should hear every option, including the option to wait.

5. Emergency access. Ask what happens if a tooth breaks on a Sunday.

Why Does My Dentist Say I Need a Deep Cleaning?

It’s one of the most common worries we see online. Some people feel pushed into it. A deep cleaning, also called scaling and root planing, treats gum disease. It removes tartar and bacteria from below the gumline, where a regular cleaning doesn’t reach.

Your dentist checks with a small probe that measures the space between each tooth and the gum. Healthy spaces usually measure 1 to 3 millimeters. Deeper readings with bleeding, plus bone loss on X rays, point to gum disease. The CDC reports that about 4 in 10 adults aged 30 and older have some form of it.

Here’s how we handle it. We show you your gum numbers and X rays on a screen and give you a copy. If you want a second opinion, we send your records. If another office told you that you need a deep cleaning, bring your chart and we’ll take an honest second look.

New to Port St. Lucie

New to Port St. Lucie? Switching Dentists Is Easy

Port St. Lucie has had the fastest population growth of any large U.S. city for five years in a row, based on U.S. Census Bureau estimates analyzed by Miami Realtors. The city grew 29.6% from 2020 to 2025 and had 268,062 residents as of July 2025. Many new neighbors move up from South Florida or down from the Northeast.

All that growth means finding a new dentist in Port St. Lucie, Florida can take time, because busy offices often have long waits for new patients. Switching to us takes four easy steps:

1. Book your first visit online or by phone, any day of the week.

2. Tell us your old dentist’s name. Once you sign a release, we’ll request your X rays and records for you.

3. Bring a photo ID and a list of your medicines.

4. Get a full exam and a plan written just for you.

Dental Care for Shift Workers and Local Employers

Many people in PSL work shifts. Nurses and staff at Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital and HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, warehouse crews, teachers, deputies and contractors often can’t take a weekday morning off. Because we’re open 24/7, you can come after a night shift or before a day shift.
