Cosmetic Dentist in Port St. Lucie, FL

Our cosmetic dentist in Port St. Lucie can repair teeth that are chipped, stained, worn or uneven. Whether your last checkup was one year ago or ten, you are welcome here. After a full exam, we explain your options and give you the cost in writing before any work begins. A small chip can often be fixed in one visit, while straightening or an implant takes a few months. We are open 24/7, so you can come in after a late shift or on a Sunday morning.

The basics

What Is Cosmetic Dentistry?

At our Port St. Lucie office, cosmetic dentistry means fixing the things that make you unhappy with your smile. We can change the color, shape, size or position of your teeth and close gaps between them. Common treatments include teeth whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns, clear aligners and implants. Many of these also make it easier to bite and chew. For example, a crown on a worn-down tooth makes it look better and makes it strong enough to chew on again.

What to expect

What Does Cosmetic Dentistry Involve?

Every cosmetic treatment begins with a regular dental exam. Whitening, veneers and crowns only last on healthy teeth and gums, so we check for decay or gum problems first. A typical first visit goes like this:

  1. First, you point out what you’d like to look different.
  2. We check your teeth and gums, and take scans or X-rays if needed.
  3. We go over your options, including the less expensive ones, and what each one involves.
  4. You get a written treatment plan showing the cost and how many visits it will take.
  5. You take the plan home and decide when you’re ready.

Some treatments, like whitening and bonding usually take one or two visits, and veneers take two. Implants and straightening take a few months. If you want your new smile ready for a wedding or another big event, let us know the date and we’ll schedule your treatment around it.

Treatments

Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures We Offer in Port St. Lucie

Teeth Whitening

Whitening brightens natural teeth that have yellowed from coffee, tea, red wine, smoking or simply getting older. We offer in-office whitening, or we can make custom trays for you to use at home. The American Dental Association says you should talk to your dentist before any whitening treatment. Whitening does not change the color of crowns, veneers, bonding or tooth colored fillings, so we usually whiten first and match any new work to your brighter shade.

Dental Bonding

Bonding uses tooth colored resin to fix chips, fill small gaps and cover stains. We sculpt the resin right on the tooth, then set it hard with a curing light, usually in a single appointment. Bonding lasts about 3 to 10 years, and it stains more easily than porcelain.

Porcelain Veneers

Think of a porcelain veneer as a slim, made-to-measure facing that’s glued to the front of one tooth. It lets us correct a tooth’s shade, outline or length when whitening or bonding can’t. At our Port St. Lucie office, the process takes two appointments. At the first, we remove a fine layer of enamel and take a digital scan. When you come back, your new veneers go on and are bonded in place. Because that enamel doesn’t grow back, the tooth will need a veneer from then on. Brush, floss and keep your checkups, and you can expect 10 to 15 years from them.
.

Same Day Dental Crowns

A crown covers the whole tooth. It is the right choice when a tooth is cracked, worn down or heavily filled. We make crowns in our office, so most patients leave with the final crown the same day instead of waiting two weeks with a temporary one.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are thin plastic trays that slowly move crooked or gapped teeth into place. You take them out to eat and brush. Once your teeth are straight, they’re easier to keep clean and less likely to wear unevenly.

Dental Implants

An implant fills the space left by a lost tooth, starting with a new root in the jawbone. It can support a single crown, a bridge or a full denture that no longer slips. We place and restore implants in our own office, so you won’t need to see a second dentist.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Old silver fillings can make teeth look gray. Tooth colored fillings match your natural teeth and are used for new cavities and to replace old metal fillings.

Smile Makeover

A smile makeover puts several of these treatments together under one plan. For example, we might whiten your teeth first, then add bonding or veneers to the front teeth and a crown on a worn back tooth.

Benefits

Cosmetic Dentistry Benefits

  • A smile you don’t hide. Many people stop smiling in photos because of one chipped or dark tooth. Fixing that tooth can change it.
  • Better chewing. Crowns and implants rebuild worn, broken or missing teeth so you can eat what you like.
  • Easier cleaning. Straight teeth and smooth new surfaces are easier to brush and floss, so less plaque builds up.
  • Less wear later. Fixing a bad bite or a broken edge can stop small damage from becoming bigger damage.
  • Long lasting results. Looked after properly, porcelain veneers and crowns can keep going for a decade or longer.

Cost

How Much Does Cosmetic Dentistry Cost in Port St. Lucie?

Two patients rarely pay the same amount. What you end up paying comes down to the treatment you pick, how many teeth are involved, the material and any fixes needed beforehand. The averages below give you a rough idea.

TreatmentTypical price
Teeth whitening (in office)About $650 (usually $300 to $1,000)
Dental bonding, per toothUsually $300 to $600
Composite (resin) veneer, per toothUsually $250 to $1,500
Porcelain veneer, per toothAbout $1,854 (usually $525 to $3,040)
Dental crownAbout $1,372 (usually $1,050 to $2,335)
Single dental implantAbout $4,515 (usually $3,765 to $5,745)

These are average prices from national and Florida cost reports, not our prices. After your exam, we’ll give you a written estimate based on your own teeth.

How Much Are Veneers in Florida?

A 2026 cost report puts the average price of a porcelain veneer in Florida at about $1,854 per tooth, with most prices between $525 and $3,040. Across the US, the American Dental Association gives a range of $925 to $2,500 per tooth, as reported by Colgate. Most people get six to eight veneers on the upper front teeth, since those are the ones that show when you smile. If only one tooth is dark or chipped, a single veneer, or two, can be enough.

Insurance and Medicare

Does Insurance Cover Cosmetic Dentistry?

Usually not. Most dental insurance plans treat whitening and veneers as cosmetic and don’t pay for them. Coverage is more likely when there’s a real problem to fix, such as a broken tooth that needs a crown or a chip or cavity repaired with bonding.

Medicare covers even less. Medicare.gov lists routine cleanings, fillings, pulled teeth, dentures and implants among the things Original Medicare generally won’t pay for. Some Medicare Advantage plans add dental coverage, but most put a yearly ceiling on it, often $1,000 or less, according to KFF.

We do not bill insurance plans. Before we start anything, you’ll have the total in writing.

Veneers vs. Crowns vs. Bonding: Which Is Right for You?

All three can fix chipped, stained or misshapen teeth. The right choice depends on how much damage there is and how long you want the result to last. Here’s a quick side-by-side:

Veneers

Are Veneers Worth It?

Veneers are a good choice when your teeth are healthy but whitening, bonding or straightening can’t give you the color or shape you want. If a cheaper option can get you the same result, veneers usually aren’t worth the extra cost, especially since they’re permanent. Slightly yellow or uneven teeth can often be fixed with whitening and a little bonding, no veneers needed. After your exam, we’ll tell you whether veneers make sense for you or a simpler option will work.

Choosing a dentist

How to Find the Best Cosmetic Dentist in Port St. Lucie

Online reviews are a good place to start. When you visit, look for a dentist who:

  • Checks your teeth and gums before suggesting any treatment.
  • Suggests simpler options first, like whitening or bonding, when they’ll work.
  • Shows you what the result could look like before final work.
  • Puts the full price on paper before you commit.
  • Welcomes a second opinion and answers questions without pressure.

Be careful if an office offers you a treatment plan and a payment plan before anyone has properly examined your teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

A regular, or general, dentist focuses on keeping teeth healthy with cleanings, fillings and repairs. A cosmetic dentist’s main concern is appearance. Cosmetic dentistry is not one of the dental specialties the American Dental Association recognizes, so licensed general dentists provide it. Training and experience vary, so ask how often a dentist does the treatment you want.

The ones we’re asked about most are whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns, clear aligners and implants. Whitening is usually the first step because it is simple and keeps your natural teeth. Bonding is popular for small chips and gaps because it costs less and is done in one visit.

For many people, yes. If you cover your mouth when you laugh or avoid photos, fixing the tooth that bothers you can make you more relaxed in daily life. The goal is a smile that looks like you on a good day, not one that looks fake.

No. Age is not the limit. Healthy gums and teeth are. Patients in their 60s and 70s often come in about edges that have worn down, stains whitening won’t shift, gaps that opened up as teeth moved, or old crowns showing a gray line at the gums. Bonding, veneers, implants and aligners all work well for older adults when the base is healthy.

There’s no single best dentist; it comes down to the care you need. Look for one who examines you before recommending treatment, explains costs in writing and has hours that fit your life. Read recent Google reviews and ask about experience with your treatment.

Not always. Porcelain veneers and crowns are custom made for each tooth, so you pay for planning, material, lab or in office milling and fitting time. One bonded chip costs far less than a full set of veneers, and many people get the look they want with whitening plus bonding on one or two teeth.

The lowest price is not always the lowest cost. If cheap work doesn’t fit or breaks early, you end up paying again to have it redone. Compare written estimates, and ask what is included and how long the work should last.

Ask any office for a written estimate and lower cost options. You can also lower the cost without lowering the quality: whiten first and then match fewer veneers to your new shade, choose bonding for small chips, treat only the teeth that show when you smile, or spread a larger plan over a few stages. We charge based on what your teeth need and show you the full cost before treatment starts.

Yes. Regular cleanings and small fillings cost far less than fixing big problems later. Catching a cavity early can mean a small filling instead of a crown or root canal.

It depends on how many teeth are treated and with what. A plan of whitening plus bonding on two teeth costs far less than eight porcelain veneers. You get a written estimate after your exam.

A 2026 report estimates All on 4 implants in Florida at about $15,175 per arch, with most prices between $11,640 and $27,500. A full mouth means two arches, so many people pay roughly double. The final cost depends on bone health, materials and whether teeth must be removed first.

Traditional porcelain veneers are permanent. Once enamel is removed, that tooth will always need a veneer or a crown. They are bonded in place, so only a dentist can remove or replace them, usually every 10 to 15 years.

Not when they are planned well. Problems happen when too much enamel is removed or when teeth with decay or gum disease are covered without treatment first. The edges where a veneer meets the tooth can still get cavities, so brushing, flossing and cleanings still matter.

The teeth are numbed while they are prepared, so most people feel pressure, not pain. Some cold sensitivity afterward is common and usually fades within a few weeks.

They shouldn’t. Veneers look fake when they are too white, too even or too big for the face. We match the shade to your age and skin tone, not the brightest color on the chart. [Before final work, you can see and try the new shape with a mock up.]

No. Veneers can hide small gaps or slightly crooked teeth, but they don’t move teeth. Covering a real bite problem with veneers can lead to grinding and jaw pain. If your bite is off, straightening first gives a result that lasts longer.

Labor and lab costs are lower there. Some people who travel for veneers end up with full crowns instead, which take off far more tooth. And if something goes wrong, a foreign warranty usually means another flight. If dental work done abroad hurts, looks wrong or feels loose, we can examine it and explain your options.

Usually not. Most bonding needs no numbing at all.

Usually, yes. We adjust the strength or use take home trays to keep sensitivity low.

Yes. In a 2025 Delta Dental survey, 21% of adults said they had skipped dental care because of anxiety. Tell us you are nervous. We talk you through each step first, pause the moment you raise a hand, and numb the area for anything that might be uncomfortable. [Add your sedation options if you offer them.]

Not added fluoride. Port St. Lucie paused adding it to city water in December 2024, and a state law stopped public water systems across Florida from adding it starting July 1, 2025. Fluoride still helps protect the edges of crowns, veneers and bonding, where decay often starts. A fluoride toothpaste, daily flossing and a fluoride varnish at your cleanings all help.

It’s an easy way to remember the basics: brush twice a day, keep at it for two minutes, and get a checkup twice a year. It protects natural teeth and cosmetic work alike.
